  • Abstract
Motivated by the importance of the Ricean Statistical model in describing communication channels, in this paper we study statistical behavior of dual-hop amplify-and-forward relay transmission over non-identical Ricean fading channels. Fixed gain (FG) amplification at the relay is assumed. Two most important statistical functions describing total received signal-to-noise ratio are derived: probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF). They are obtained in a form of rapidly converging infinite sum. The derived expressions are valid for different fading scenarios (different Ricean K factors and average SNRs), and coincide to previously published results for Rayleigh fading.
