Abstract
Module assembly technology is based on numerical control positioning system and laser measuring technology. It has been widely applied in the manufacturing process and has become one of the key technologies that support mass customisation of mechanical products. From the perspective of systems engineering, the function and principle of an automatic assembly system for large-scale components are discussed according to the concept of configuration management. System structure, data models and function models are presented to realise the function of the assembly system. A kinematics model of a flexible body is proposed on the basis of transfer matrix method of the multi-body system to establish and maintain the consistency of the assembly system and assembly requirements.
