  • Abstract
We propose a combined method of a spectrum sensing and a channel utilization state prediction for a cognitive radio system. In order to run the spectrum sensing, the cognitive user has to observe the surrounding wireless environment by using a received signal during the sensing period that the cognitive user cannot transmit any data. However, the proposed method can increase the chance of transmission at the cognitive users with the prediction of the future states instead of running the spectrum sensing of the channel. In this paper, we evaluate the proposed method by using the computer simulation.
