  • Abstract
    Thermal management is one of the main challenges in designing embedded systems. One of the common approaches for implementing embedded systems is using FPGAs and their soft-processors. The current work focuses on providing a platform for dynamic thermal management (DTM) of an FPGA-based processor system using Dynamic Frequency Scaling (DFS). At first, a platform with a soft-core processor is established that is able to control the system clock frequency using thermal feedback of the FPGA at run-time. Then, several thermal management algorithms are proposed to explore the merit of this design.
