Abstract :
This paper deals with a common problem of the distribution of soldiers over the operation area to occupy the best position for the optimal visual coverage of the area of interest. The main idea for optimization is the usage of the simulated annealing. This method brings the most promising result in the ratio of time to performance. The calculation´s result is the optimal number of observation posts in the operation area, which can be used for visual coverage of the ground over the area, where the unit should go through or should be used for example as an ambush area.
