  • Abstract
This paper discusses a new approach on the modelling characterization of magnetic materials . The models founded on the literature may lack a more didactic focus on the determination of parameters such as permeability and magnetic losses . In order to overcome that, a least square based algorithm is proposed . This method is chosen due to its simplicity and effectiveness to achieve the characterization objectives. It is based on solving an overdetermined system of equations, where the best approximation is that which minimizes the sum of squared differences among the data values, e .g . magnetic field, and their corresponding modelled values . When the assumed function is linear in the parameters to be estimated the approach is called linear least squares . In this work it results in a matrix 36000 x 5 order that eliminates Jacobian matrix and non-convergent iterative process .
