  • Abstract
    In order to design a permanent magnet synchronous motor, the inductance must be computed. In this paper, the flux concentrating permanent magnet synchronous motor (FCPMSM) is introduced. It is not easy to calculate the inductance because of the complex structure of the rotor. Because the rib and bridge consists of an iron core, they have a non-linear characteristic. In order to obtain the effective value of inductance, non-linear characteristics must be considered in magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC). In this paper, in order to calculate the inductance of FCPMSM, the relative permeance of rotor was analyzed. And then d-q axis magnetic equivalent circuit including non-linear magnetic reluctance was made up using the flux line. Finally, we verified the validity of the proposed inductance calculation method by comparing the results between the finite element method and the proposed method.
