  • Abstract
This paper aims to introduce a new winding-switching concept to deal with the limited flux weakening capability, namely, the magnetizing coils will be switched to serve as the secondary armature winding after the reversal of magnetization directions of Al-Ni-Co magnets, thus resulting in the flux linkage cancellation in the same phase . The machine topology, winding layout, together with the flux-weakening principle, are described, then the major electromagnetic characteristics of CMP-SFMM with or without winding-switching are investigated and compared, which confirms the feasibility of the flux weakening method .
