Abstract
This study presents the design and analysis of a 188 W 120 rpm outer rotor flux switching permanent magnet machine for electric vehicle applications. Theoretical analysis and finite element method are used to determine the kind of combination of stator slots and rotor poles that is best selection for the machine. It can be found that the reluctance torque has a very small contribution to the electromagnetic torque when compared with the permanent magnet torque.
