Abstract :
This paper proposes a new method of identification of the poles in a discrete linear system from frequency domain data. The discrete rational transfer function is represented in a rational Laguerre basis, where the basis elements can be expressed by powers of the Blaschke-function. Laguerre coefficients are considered as a sum of oscillating signals what gives the opportunity to estimate the number and place of poles of the system by the Fourier trasform of the Laguerre-coefficients. The behavior of the method is analyzed in the presence of noise in the measurements and an example is presented as an illustration of the full procedure.
