Abstract
Challenges in monitoring and understanding load profiles for different locations in the UAE University are investigated. Understanding equipment behavior from lower level could lead to better energy savings. Load profiles monitored at grid substations, main distribution panels, subpanels and electric circuits (device level) are presented and discussed. The impact of time interval, data resolution, system automation level, operation and settings conditions and harmonic distortion on the analyzing LP for energy saving is discussed. The UAE university campus was used as a case study to monitor and analyze different load profiles.
