Abstract :
New structure of Rogowski coil and the corresponding optimization method are proposed. In the existing research results, the sensor performance has been improved by considering the influence factors from application scenario like adjacent interference and sensor´s position. However, there exists physical discontinuity between the coils due to natural non-overlapping. With the novel design, it allows the physical overlapping of the coils and parameters optimization simultaneously, which can together eliminate the negative influence. By fully using of both main coils of the separate winding coils and auxiliary coils of the windings on the PCB, the proposed structure of combined transformer can be fabricated easily for industrialized application. Both simulation and test results have verified the performance of the new type of Rogowski coil. And another by-product of this research is feasibility of error balance method (EBM) for the Rogowski coil design.
