Abstract
The use of antiferromagnets to pin domain walls in ferromagnetic nanowires was investigated using simulations. Pinning was effective for both in-plane and perpendicularly magnetized nanowires with transverse, Néel and Bloch domain walls. Domain walls could be depinned using external applied fields or electric currents and a pulsed current mode could be used to shift domain walls from one pinning site to the next.
