Abstract :
Modern people are concerned with healthy eating habits; however, sustaining these habits often requires vigilant self-monitoring and strong will. In a related work, a social media system was proposed that enables people to begin eating naturally meals without conscious effort. The system used the concept of expectation assimilation, that is, it converted others´ evaluations of healthfulness into those of taste. Factors affecting meal satisfaction, however, likely differ depending on the person. In this study, we propose a feedback manipulation method based on users´ individual tastes for meals and try to improve the user´s eating habits more efficiently. We extended the system used in the related work conforming in accordance with our proposal, and conducted a user study with the system. We demonstrated an advantage of our method in improving eating habits.
