Abstract
Research in the conflict literature has shown that psychological needs of group members are critical antecedent of intragroup conflict. However, scholars have neglected to explore the moderating effect of some important variables between the need for affiliation(NAFF) and relationship conflict. Based on the previous studies, our study introduces the average and discrete influence of NAFF on relationship conflict, and the moderating effect of LMX differentiation on the relationship of NAFF and relationship conflict within group. Furthermore, the present study theorizes and empirically investigates the relationship among relationship conflict, task interdependence, and group performance. In the end, we discuss implications and limitations of our arguments for theory and practices.
