Abstract
A design method, implementation details, and results are presented for the use of Observer-Based Loop Transfer Recovery (OBLTR) on an autopilot Flare control law for a transport aircraft. In this application, the control law structure is full-state-feedback, with all states measured. Observer-based loop transfer recovery is added to reduce or eliminate interaction with the structural modes of the aircraft, thus reducing or eliminating the need for adding notch filters. Results are presented in order to compare this design method with that eliminating structural mode interaction through notch filters.
