  • Abstract
    The knowledge of weather condition is crucial for aviation: about three out of ten accidents are related to the presence of adverse weather conditions. To achieve an enhanced awareness, a system that realizes hazard maps for some of the most critical phenomena (turbulence, icing, thunderstorms) has been developed. The algorithms realized take in input different EUMETSAT satellite products which have some considerable advantages. The algorithm was produced through the bond between the physical characteristics by which these phenomena are defined and products provided by EUMETSAT.
