  • Abstract
E-learning usage and implementation is seen as use of a magic stick to many educators and trainers especially in the developing countries, bringing positive or great values to them and their organization. According to some researches e-learning means the use of various electronic items including information and communication technology (ICT) as a part of their training program. Learning Management System is software that supports the development, delivery, assessment and management of courses in online learning environments. While implementing the LMS in our university we were faced with the challenge of incorporating the most appropriate algorithm for searching data´s, such as strings, in text documents added by instructors as course content. Considering that algorithms can be analyzed in relation to time and the space efficiency, we analyzed several searching algorithms. In this paper we will introduce the results of different searching algorithms in complex structures, by searching strings in files which are as resources for specific courses with different length designed to accomplish the same task. Our aim through comparison was to decide which one is more appropriate to use in the new platform that we are building.
