Abstract
To protect electronic device from voltage overloads under exposing by natural and artifcial electromagnetic impulses so called transient voltage suppressors (TVS) or TVS-diodes are widely used. Domestic manufacturers produce the TVS for break-down voltage up to 400 V and pulse power dissipation up to 10 kW. The TVS-diodes of the foreign producers are designed for pulse power dissipation up to 60 kW. The paper presents the results of the design engineering of the TVS with pulse power up to 150 kW. It also presents some experimental results that confrm chosen technical solutions. The relevancy of this problem is due to requirements of the power electronics development.
