Abstract :
Marine simulator has been widely applied to the seafarer training and examination. But, there have been still no standardized criteria on evaluation of the operation level of the trainees, which can influence the training quality and the effectiveness of the evaluation results. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to establish an automatic assessment system for operations on marine simulator. Besides, the development of the modern marine simulators and computer technology makes it feasible. So, the general design idea of the automatic assessment system is proposed. And the automatic assessment of ship berthing operation was taken as a detailed research object. Its related assessment index system and model was established to lay foundation for the realization of the system for ship operation on marine simulator.
