Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an approach to economically improve the overall performance, dependability, reliability and availability of electricity generation power plants in south of Algeria by integrating renewable energy. A prefeasibility study of a hybrid 9×1.9MW Diesel power generation plant in Tindouf (Algeria) from conventional and renewable energy sources will help to improve the performances while paying attention to flexible design, fast implementation, energy efficiency and low emissions. The challenge of such systems is the mitigation of CO2 emissions and reduction of fossil fuels dependency.
