Abstract
Load frequency control is an important measurement to ensure the safe and economical operation of power system. In this paper, by taking into account the random disturbances brought by the renewable energy resources, the robust load frequency control problem for interconnected power systems with time delay is considered in detail. Considering the signal transmission delay, two controller designing strategies, namely the state feedback controller and the delayed state feedback controller designing strategies are proposed. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, some sufficient stabilization conditions are developed in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which could be efficiently solved by using the Matlab LMI control toolbox. Finally, the two-area interconnected power systems based on Matlab/Simulink is provided to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.
