The big picture

This article deals with the development of extra large screen displays usingplasma tube technology. Plasma display panels (PDPs) created a new market for large-screen flat displays featuring real and impressive images, and this market continues to grow. The PDP has essential advantages over the LCD, such as high-speed response with emissive components, an extensive viewing angle, easy manufacturing, and the ease in making large screens. The new technologies of PTA for extra-large screen displays were developed and are progressing toward practical use. Testing of an experimental PTA display demonstrated that it has excellent performance.
