Abstract :
The authors describe analytical and experimental verification of the applicable wavelength range of U-band signals in in-line Raman amplifier WDM systems and find that the U-band below 1640 nm is as effective as the L-band; consideration is given to the dependence of the NF of the Raman amplifier on signal loss and pump loss.
