Abstract
This paper describes a set of computer programs used in a teaching unit on numerical solutions of fields embedded in a course on electromagnetic fields and waves. The logical development of various algorithms pertinent to the numerical methods discussed in the course is emphasized. The progression of the program structures is designed to facilitate a variety of tests and experiments related to the theoretical problems discussed in class. The use of the packages in such a teaching unit improves students´ comprehension and skills in solving field problems. The programs have been written in standard Fortran.
