Abstract
A spread spectrum technique is described which, when applied to the mobile radio cellular communication system, is seen to provide very substantial improvements over what can be achieved through the use of conventional modulation and spectrum accessing techniques. The expanded capabilities include an extremely large number of unique individual addresses probably sufficient for all foreseeable growth requirements as well as an improved geographic re-use capability, high simultaneous usage rate, and substantially improved spectral efficiency.
