Abstract :
This paper presents material intended to be used to modify existing control and dynamics courses being taught at many universities. The proposed modifications emphasize how one proceeds to develop a complete simulation of a multicomponent system that can be used for dynamics and control studies. A modeling philosophy and the detailed steps one should go through in developing a system model are presented.
