Abstract :
A highly successful cooperative program between the College of Engineering and the power industry plays an important role in power engineering education at Iowa State University. This paper describes the history, operation, student participation, and the effect on both the undergraduate and graduate curriculum of the Power Affiliate Research Program at Iowa State. An associated program, the Power System Computer Service, is also described and its educational impact on Iowa State and other institutions is evaluated.
