Abstract
Transmission coefficients of periodically perforated conducting plates exhibit single/compound resonances with amplitudes and bandwidths that strongly depend on the unit cell hole distribution. A qualitative model that permits manipulating these plates´ dispersion relations and transmission coefficient for near-normal incidence through proper selection of the unit cell hole distribution´s first two Fourier components is presented. The proposed structure and model can be used to design periodic grating filters and leaky wave antennas.
