Abstract :
An equivalent circuit analysis has been developed for the fast modes of helix-loaded waveguides. A generalized helix-loaded structure with dielectric supports and radial vanes is taken for analysis purpose and its equivalent circuit parameters for non-azimuthally symmetric fast modes are deduced. This analysis is useful in finding the transmission line parameters for asymmetric modes as well as the cold dispersion relation for the interaction structure without the requirement of solving a complex determinantal equation given in earlier field analytical techniques
