  • Abstract
A simple closed-form formula for plasma-frequency reduction factor for a solid cylindrical electron beam in a metallic tunnel is developed using an artificial neural network algorithm of universal approximation. The formula is simple yet accurate and amenable to easy computation, even using a scientific calculator, without resorting to an exhaustive numerical iterative search, as required by conventional analyses. The formula is validated against published results, with excellent agreement.
