An M.S. External Degree Program at the Naval Weapons Center: An Innovation

This paper describes an External Degree program for a Master´s degree in engineering with emphasis on electrical engineering options. The program is offered at the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake, CA (located 150 mi north of Los Angeles) where there is a large body of technical personnel engaged in sophisticated research and development in advanced defense systems. The faculty is selected from among NWC personnel, and the program is closely monitored by the senior engineering faculty of California State University, Northridge.
