Abstract
Numerical results obtained for a hard strip-loaded conical horn antenna using the generalised scattering matrix method are presented and discussed. It is shown that the main features of the horn are associated with resonances of the stripline mode being excited as a result of wave scattering at the open end. The resonances cause oscillations in the horn aperture efficiency with an amplitude of around 10% when changing the horn length or operating frequency. The effect of the resonances on the crosspolar level is less critical.
