Abstract
The subject of this paper is power-line communications over the European 240-V domestic low-voltage mains supply in the frequencies identified by the European mains signaling standard. Techniques apply to low-cost equipment for applications requiring data rates of no more than hundreds of bits per second. Only narrow-band modem techniques are considered. A previous paper presented a channel model and transmitter/receiver structure. In the present paper, the effectiveness of a well-known method of achieving symbol synchronization using a pseudonoise training sequence is shown.
