  • Abstract
    The authors have demonstrated microgun-pumped blue and blue-green semiconductor lasers operating at 496 nm and 514 nm, respectively. Graded-index separate-confinement heterostructures were employed based on the CdZnSe/ZnSe material system. The corresponding lasing thresholds were in the 8-17 kW/cm2 range for operating temperatures of 85 to 135 K
