Researchers in Korea have developed a multiuser motion recognition system that uses a smart-phone detection method. Instead of relying on expensive, focused equipment, the system only requires a USB camera and personal smart-phone to provide a motion control interface. This motion recognition is provided by an interface between devices using an image-based object tracking algorithm through smart-phone LED luminescence. It recognises the user´s gestures by tracking 3D distance and the rotation angle of the smart-phone, which essentially acts as a controller in the user´s hand.
