Abstract
The concept of basic demagnetized states in which the directional distributions of magnetic moments show the simplest rotational symmetry is introduced and suggested as a supplementary statement to the definition of demagnetization. Any demagnetized state can be considered as a linear combination of basic demagnetized states so that the magnetic behavior of the system can be evaluated by the summation of contributions from the basic states. Fourier analysis is used to extend this model of demagnetization
