Abstract :
Magnetic properties of 6.5 wt% Si-Fe alloy, annealed at 1100°C, oil-quenched, then annealed at 630°C for different durations and again oil-quenched, and consisting of a mixed B2 + DO3 phase, are reported. Dark-field images showed DO3 ordered structures as fine particles in samples annealed at 630°C for 3 hours, but the volume of the particles increased and became lamellar in the (100) direction, for longer annealing times. Changes in the soft magnetic properties, permeability, and coercive force were also measured.
