Abstract
An ultra-high speed (approximately 80000 rpm) version of a previously announced compact parametric motor was described. A specially developed gaseous bearing was employed, and the exciter magnetic circuit was toroidally wound 0.1 mm thick Fe-Si sheet. Application of an AC sinusoidal voltage at frequencies 1.3 kHz and 1.0 kHz resulted in the anticipated speeds, about 80000 and 60000 rpm, respectively.
