  • Abstract
    Previously (see ibid., vol.COM-28, p.1197-1204, 1980) the linearized mean-square phase error resulting from a digital PLI has been related to the ratio of the power of the spectral line in the input at the VCO frequency and the value of the noise spectrum at the same frequency. The author shows that this is fundamentally incorrect.
