Abstract :
A novel design of an ultrafast temporal differentiator based on a π phase-shifted long-period fibre grating is proposed and numerically tested. This design can process optical signals with terahertz bandwidths and it is especially advantageous in terms of stability and robustness against variations in the grating parameters.
