Abstract :
Various elements were added to TbFe and TbFeCo films and their effects were studied. The addition of Al, Ti, Cr, or Pt was found to inhibit both pinhole growth and corrosion. The addition of Pt not only increased the Kerr rotation angle (θK), but also completely halted the deterioration of θK.
