Abstract
In general, residual flux density produces a detrimental effect on a measurement instrument. This report studies the following issues: (1) Analysis of residual flux distribution by the finite element method, taking hysteresis into account. (2) Demagnetizing conditions of mild steel and the demagnetizing method. The demagnetizing conditions and method were confirmed experimentally and the following experiments on demagnetization were made: (a) gradient, (b) frequency, and (c) magnitude.
