  • Abstract
    Magnetic properties and Ker rotation of Fe-light rare earth amorphous film were investigated in order to make clear the factors to determine their magneto-optical effect. Torque measurements on the films were used to determine their temperature and composition dependence of uniaxial anisotropy. It was found that their direction of easy magnetization was perpendicular to the film plane at low temperatures and Ku decreased with increasing temperature, changing sign around 200 to 300 K. Finally, it became 0 around 400 K.
