Abstract :
The simple perturbation method is applied to obtain the propagation characteristics of finlines loaded with anisotropic material. Starting from the analysis of a finline on isotropic dielectric substrate, the authors obtain the propagation constant of finlines having dielectric anisotropy in the substrate and finlines containing magnetised ferrite. The main feature of the perturbation method is its simplicity. Since the anisotropies encountered is practice are small deviations about some mean isotropic value, the results obtained show good agreement with those obtained using the rigorous methods reported in their literature.
