  • Abstract
    A new method for estimating the electric are fusion temperature of a fibre optic splicer is investigated. It is based on the stress relaxation relation with the temperature and annealing time of optical fibres. In addition, a clearer idea about the internal stress distribution and variations in optical fibre splices is obtained
