Abstract :
The Linux operating system provides a good example demonstrating how the cultural values of both the technology and the culture that the technology is being transferred to could influence a software\´s popularity. The Linux case study also provides insight into how software localization - tailoring a piece of software to "fit" the market that it is being sold in - could be better performed.
