Abstract :
A 400 Mbit/s transmission experiment has been performed using a 400 m single-mode fluoride optical fibre at 2.55 mu m wavelength. The experimental system was comprised of a colour centre laser, an external waveguide modulator and an InGaAs/InAsP photodiode.
