Abstract
Most people find accounting and finance a complete yawn-making turn off. This is the first article in a series introducing the fundamentals of the subject in, hopefully, a light and easy-to-digest way. This article gives an introduction to investment appraisal or net present value. It compares money over time, and how to use net present value to cost a project.
