Abstract
A flexible antenna was created by covering a silicone substrate with patterned metal sheets. The sheets are etched so that they can bend in either direction without damaging the metal. The silicone substrate was a commercial off-the-shelf product. The design allows rapid creation of patch antennas that can bend and hold their shape. Results show that the antenna can be bent in either direction without significantly altering the impedance match.
